We Approve: Bill’s Bar & Burger in New York City

Posted by Mike Cellucci

I went on a food journey and ended up finding a gem in Bill’s Bar & Burger. It’s located in the Meatpacking District/Chelsea area of New York City.

When I entered the place, it had a nice dive-bar feel, which immediately made me happy. Two big flat screens sat high up on both sides of the bar, ESPN on both. The staff was very helpful and nice, seemed like a chill environment and I would definitely go back for drinks.

The beer list was solid. It was extensive but not overwhelming. I went with a classic burger: hickory smoked bacon, cheddar, lettuce and tomato.

I also chose to get the sweet potato fries, which turned out to be soggy and very subpar. Soggy fries are the worst. The burger was a good size but not so large that I’d struggle to finish it; it was perfect in size and left me completely satisfied.

The bacon was cooked to perfection and was packed with flavor … God, bacon is so good. I highly recommend Bill’s if you’re in the Big Apple, sans the sweet potato fries — unless you actually like soggy fries. If that’s the case, maybe you should go to Denny’s and stick with the Grand Slam.
