Meatball Platter

Where did Tom Brady and his teammates eat the night before their season-opener against the Dolphins? They dined at Cafe Martorano, a favorite hangout for celebs and athletes in the Miami area (they have two locations and one in Vegas).

There’s No Crying in Baseball but There Are Cupcakes, Lots of Them

Let me preface this post by saying that I am not 300lbs. Not even close. And I’m not saying there’s really anything wrong with those numbers on the scale, but I’m about to make myself sound larger than life like all the Backstreet Boys put together. I’m also probably going to sound like an MLB groupie, but bear with me. Next time you’re at one of these ballparks, you’ll thank me.

2011 US Open Dining Preview

S&F’s Maria Sandoval caught up with Chefs Tony Mantuano, Jim Abbey and the one and only Masaharu Morimoto. The Iron Chef even serenades Maria!

Check out the video below:

It’s Official: J.J. Redick is S&F’s Official Unofficial Mascot

Magic sharpshooter J.J. Redick is one of our favorite athletes to follow on Twitter. Why? Partly because of this exclusive interview he did with the esteemed Michael Katz, when he (jokingly? mockingly?) told S&F that he eats a “Rice Krispies Treat, right after the starting lineup, literally as the ball is being tipped.”

We made our way to Detroit for the first time over the weekend. And we hooked up with friend and former colleague Matt Watson, who showed us around town for an afternoon. Check out this photo of ESPN’s new cafeteria. According to someone at the WWL, it “looks like a ski lodge and the lights change color throughout the day.” Pretty slick.

Surviving All You Can Eat, All You Can Drink on a Wrigley Rooftop

When I booked a trip out to Chicago, I wanted to be sure to check out something few other baseball towns can offer: the game from rooftops outside the stadium.

For everyone who hasn’t been in Seattle during the summer, what’s Seafair? It’s an annual summer celebration of hydros, Blue Angels and more. It’s also Seattle’s Mardi Gras on water. We spent the last couple day’s on our friend’s boat on Lake Washington. Check out some of our photos. Warning: fathers of college-age daughters may […]
